Business Breakfast Meeting
Update on London 2012 business opportunities
The Northwest Regional Development Agency, Cheshire & Warrington Economic Alliance and the Northwest Business Network would like to invite you to a FREE Business Breakfast meeting taking place at Nantwich Town Football Club, Nantwich on Friday 22 January 2010.
This event is aimed at all private sector businesses in the Cheshire region and will update Cheshire and Warrington businesses on progress with contracting opportunities for the London 2012 Olympic Games and Paralympic Games.
With under 3 years to go, construction work on the Olympic Park is well underway and procurement is now shifting into the supply chain and fitting out of the Olympic venues. More than 1,000 UK businesses have won contracts worth over £5 billion which includes 93 Northwest businesses winning work from 124 London 2012 contracts. It is anticipated that the procurement of goods and services from both supply chains and from LOCOG (The London Organising Committee) will increase in early 2010. London 2012 expects to have around 7,000 direct contracts which, together with it’s suppliers, will form supply chains of around 75,000 opportunities in sectors ranging from construction, engineering and manufacturing to creative, merchandising and retail.
The seminar will be followed by the opportunity to pre-select a 10 minute, one to one business clinics with representatives who can provide you with help in preparing for London 2012 and will include Business Link and Access to Finance.
Following the seminar, business support organisations will be available to offer advice on areas such as developing new products and services, saving money by cutting waste, marketing, applying LEAN techniq.
Businesses requesting a one to one business clinic will be allocated time slots.
